Catch,” the Delo Parts Guy and the new Delo Truck
SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 26, 2014--
Chevron Products Company, a Chevron U.S.A. Inc. division, maker of the
Delo brand of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and
coolants, today announced plans to conduct a live teardown of a DD15
engine, with over 400,000 miles of service using Delo® 400 XLE 10W-30,
during the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, KY March
27-29 (booth# 32495, South Wing). The event is designed to demonstrate
the ability of lower-viscosity oils, like 10W-30, to provide comparable
protection to a 15W-40 grade, while at the same time improving fuel
economy.
“There’s a misconception that lighter viscosity oils don’t offer the
same level of protection as heavier oils,” said Jim Gambill, North
America Commercial and Industrial Brands Manager, Chevron Products
Company. “We’re here to dispel that myth. Besides the teardown, we’ll
challenge attendees to compare parts from engines that have used 10W-30
and 15W-40 in similar environments and for similar lengths of service
and ask if they can see the difference. Once they realize they can rely
on Delo 400 XLE 10W-30 to maintain engine durability while improving
fuel economy, we feel they will be comfortable making the switch.”
Updated Delo Truck
Chevron will also debut the newly updated Delo Truck, an 80-foot rolling
education center that serves as a mobile ambassador for the Delo brand.
The Delo Truck features all-new graphics, a new interactive proof of
performance display, an updated DD15 engine cutaway display and an area
dedicated to Tier IV emissions. The Delo Truck is designed to educate
customers on key market issues, Delo technology and the importance of
premium performance heavy-duty engine oils, lubricants and coolants.
Edgar Hansen of “Deadliest Catch”
In addition, Chevron will also have Edgar Hansen, Chief Engineer of the
fishing vessel Northwestern in its booth Thursday through
Saturday. Edgar, whose business uses Delo lubricants and is featured on
Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” will take photos, sign autographs
and answer questions.
Fans of Edgar that can’t attend MATS are encouraged to visit Chevron
Delo on Facebook
or Twitter
and submit their questions using the hashtag #AskEdgar. During the show,
select questions will be answered by Edgar and posted online.
While at MATS, attendees will also have an opportunity to have their
picture taken with the Delo Parts Guy and take home Delo-branded gear.
