ChevronTexaco Contributes $200,000 to California Fire Relief Efforts

SAN RAMON, Calif., Oct. 31 -- ChevronTexaco (NYSE: CVX) today announced it is contributing $200,000 to the American Red Cross to help victims of the fires raging in Southern California.

"Our hearts go out to everyone in Southern California during this difficult time," said David J. O'Reilly, Chairman and CEO for ChevronTexaco. "We are deeply grateful to the American Red Cross for providing aid to those in need and to the courageous firefighters selflessly risking their lives to battle the fires."

The contribution is designated for fire relief efforts in the counties of Los Angeles, San Bernardino and San Diego. ChevronTexaco also has made available several water tank trucks for use by local firefighters.
