Melody Meyer named president of Chevron Energy Technology; Louie Ehrlich named president of Chevron Information Technology and CIO
SAN RAMON, Calif., Apr 14, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) today announced that Melody Meyer will become president of Chevron Energy Technology (ETC) and Louie Ehrlich will become president of Chevron Information Technology (ITC) and chief information officer (CIO), effective June 1, 2008. Meyer replaces the retiring Mark Puckett, while Ehrlich replaces the retiring Gary Masada.

"Melody's experience in operations and technology application will bring great depth to her role in which she will manage the company's technology services and research and development. Louie brings demonstrated leadership skills and broad information technology experience that spans the full breadth of Chevron's business."
Meyer is currently vice president of the Gulf of Mexico strategic business unit in Covington, Louisiana. She began her career in 1979, following graduation from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, with a degree in engineering science-mechanical. During her career, Meyer has held operating management assignments in Kazakhstan and Angola and senior positions in Chevron's North America Upstream organization, including vice president of the MidContinent business unit, with headquarters in Houston.
Ehrlich earned a degree in computer science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1981 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Houston Baptist University in 1995. He joined Chevron in 1981 as a programmer-analyst in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has since held several senior roles, including being named chief information officer for Chevron's Downstream Marketing business in 2000. Ehrlich is currently vice president of Services and Strategy and CIO for Global Downstream.
Puckett joined Chevron in 1973 as a construction engineer, after graduating from Texas A&M University with a civil engineering degree. Throughout his 34 years of service, he has held a variety of upstream assignments with Chevron, including posts in Angola and Papua New Guinea. Puckett was appointed to his current position as president of ETC in 2003.
Masada joined Chevron as a research chemist in 1972 after earning a degree in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley in 1966 and a doctorate degree in organic chemistry from the University of Washington in 1972. He was appointed to his current position as president of ITC and chief information officer in August 2003. Prior to that, he held a variety of positions, including president of Chevron Research and Technology Co., a position he assumed in 1998.
