NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 10, 2002 -- ChevronTexaco today announced it is pledging $30,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to aid victims of Hurricanes Isidore and Lili along the Gulf coast.

The donation, to be divided equally among American Red Cross of Southeast Louisiana and American Red Cross of Acadiana, is designated for food and shelter for those who have been left homeless by the severe storms.

In a joint statement, Kathleen Arthur, vice president of ChevronTexaco's Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Business Unit and Douglas Lanier, vice president of ChevronTexaco's Gulf of Mexico Shelf Business Unit said, "The community has supported ChevronTexaco through the years and we wanted to provide assistance to our neighbors, customers, and friends. We hope the donation will help in some way with the challenge of relief and recovery."

ChevronTexaco has a long history of helping others in disaster situations. In recent years, ChevronTexaco has given nearly $150,000 toward disaster relief in the state of Louisiana.
